Indianapolis is the Capital of Indiana. We currently have one skate park that desperately needs renovation. The crowds swarm the park every time school is let out or the weekend is here. Indianapolis is home to a large population of skateboarders and bmxers. We need to get organized this blog will inform you of upcoming events and happenings. ONLINE PETITION!!! PLEASE SIGN!

SKATEPARK DAY AND OTHERS

First of all, sorry about the meeting last night, if you attended thanks for your support. Last night was not a good night for all of us.

In related news... There is an indy skatepark advocates email now. (indyskateparkadvocates@gmail.com) feel free to send any questions comments etc. Also If you are on facebook stop by the INDY SKATEPARK ADVOCATES facebook. This is updated all the time.

Drumroll please.... Some of us met with Indyparks and King Parks Development. They have set aside a spot. They are waiting for some other planning to happen but they are excited and ready to do something!!!! This is good news everyone all of our efforts are starting to show progress.

What better way to show our support than to attend the skatepark day this saturday!! Hope to see everyone there. 12-5

Bringing it to the SOUTHSIDE! Everyone come out and show your support. We will have clean up parties the night before and the morning of. Hopefully we will have better weather this time. SHOW YOUR SUPPORT!!!!

Been a while

Sorry everyone a lot has been going on...

So we had another meeting last night. There is a lot of positive movement. Contact with King Park has been made and their is talk of support for the park and helping us find a location!! The support your skatepark day was pretty rainy but we still had a decent turn out. Thanks to the Old Indy Skaters who all showed up early on saturday to help clean the park. Also thanks to Paul Christian who provided the park with some new trash cans and gave the lot a good clean up. Thanks to Eric Bose (sorry if it is spelled wrong) for helping cover some graffiti and helping always keeping the park clean. We got a lot of signatures but we need MORE sign the online petition if you haven't. Here are some pictures from the day...

It ended up being an awesome dry day. Thanks for everyone that showed up despite the weather. We are planning another support day coming up soon. So mark your calendars for SATURDAY MAY 22ND AT GREENWOOD SKATEPARK. Same deal clean up will be FRIDAY MAY 21ST. More info on that as we get closer.
